How Escrow Works
Gotong protects every transaction so both buyers and providers can work with confidence.
1. Funds held securely
When you accept a proposal and pay, your funds are held by Stripe Connect (SG marketplace) — Gotong's marketplace payment partner for Singapore. Gotong never holds your money directly.
2. Work is delivered
The provider completes each milestone and marks it as submitted. You receive a notification to review the work.
3. You approve and funds are released
Once you approve a milestone, Gotong instructs Stripe Connect (SG marketplace) to transfer the milestone payment to the provider's Connected Account. Unapproved milestones remain held.
4. Disputes are handled fairly
If work doesn't meet the agreed standard, you can open a dispute. Gotong's trust team reviews the evidence and resolves the case — with the option to refund or adjust the payout.
